I tripped over weather worn laces and
I found fall stenciled on a chilly Los Feliz Sidewalk.
It reminded me that magic and miracles can
Happen when you find yourself falling down.
Monsters come in from the cold and warm
Their wounded blood dry hands around the Hearth of my growing fire.
I found my pen again amoung the monsters Of my swirling mind.
I found fall when I fell down laughing at the Miracles of a dying leaf before twilight’s Shadows.
Brilliant yet menacing mountains of rapid
Mist breaks over hot coffee in morning hands.
As I lay my pen just found
A serene thought realized
We are all happy Monsters
Stenciled on concrete
Rummaging in the fondness of the Fall.
