In the end it's all about the story. I feel I got some big pieces of the story now in place, even written out. Now to find the connective tissue for a cohesive beginning, middle and end. The four main areas of the story are as follows.
Titi's situation. Becoming the Don that morning and stopping by the cemetery to pay his respects give us great insight to him and the beginning of this story.
We talked about the canals in the last post, but really we lay the ground work with the relationship between Titi and Georgie. Also the lost of TIti's innocence is discussed. Very important as we have to like TIti since he's the only character we see. People love details and I'll give it to them. Read below for more dialogue from Titi.
Here Titi gives the details on his quick ascension to becoming the Don. This is a huge betrayal which is why we have to like him already before this information is given.
Titi, broken down and slumps against the tombstone, admits his hug remorse. He takes on the sins of the past, makes amends and somehow justifies the present so he can move forward.
Camera Angle Ideas
1. Tombstone high edge shot - almost looking up the Titi's nostrils.
2. Profile shot - TIti sitting against the tombstone.
3. Heaven shot - perhaps 8 feet above, not too high.
4. Extreme Close up of Face - Nothing tells the story more than the landscape of the human face.
Remember that water Georgie? How fucking hot it came out the other end? Like a boiling furnace was down that hole. We hung off those gates, under our feet the warm water ran. Your toes, always a bit longer than mine, touched the tips of their froth. We held on as long as long as we could. Letting go finally, we took a big air inhale as the river sucked us quick, traveling blocks down the canal till the pressure subsided and forward motion ceased. Those were the happiest days of my life Georgie.
