I've have been toying around with the idea of a new short film project to do. I had been stopping myself, citing budget, crew and time concerns. Having just watched docs on National Lampoon and on Marlon Brando, I've been inspired to do it. I will write a a short film script and shoot it all on my iphone. I will need a secondary sound source and a decent editing software for post. But first thing is first. The story and character.
The birth of a character. In video I give you board brush strokes of the main character, Don Titi, and his long dead best friend, Georgie Pants. Here are some additional notes on the story.
Local and neglected somewhat. Sparse shrubbery with a somewhat desolate landscape. It's a cold, crips morning. Titi arrives, dressed impeccably, with a bouquet of flowers. He gently kisses the tombstone before going into his monologue. Titi, though young,40;s, already bears a grey beard line and ageing crows eyes. But his posture and aura radiate power.
The two boys, maybe 10, were inseparable. The solid and confident Georgie Pants would defend the taller yet fragile Titi. The boys in the neighborhood would belittle TIti about his name, he mix upbringing and his whore of a Mother. The hot days were filled with long bike rides to the Coocpah canals. Along side the bigger kids, whom all seems to respect Georgie Pants, partly for his cool charm but mostly because his Dad was Don Chava.
"Karmic convergence. What goes around, comes around Georgie. my Pops got hit and you, you got yours as did you Dad. Now your whole fucking bloodline is wiped off this scorched Earth. I exterminated your family name. You took my Father away, you and your lowlife shit grinning Father. I did it. I was happy to do. I'm fucking ecstatic right now cause I know tomorrow, that sun will rise and karma will for me Georgie Pants. Bit until then I will dance and piss on your grave and that of your pig fuck Fathers of yours..."
Part Two. The dark origins of the two families and the old man under the canals.
