From Eva with Love was already written. Norman McGuire and Simon Parker had created a wonderful story about revenge. So the challenge for me was to honor what was there while expanding on the world and character development. I love the male lead character of Stan. I wanted the audience to love him as well so I thought making him a pack rack, a foodie and a love of old jazz music would connect us to his journey.
Easy stirs his coffee. Agitated and ready to pop, he meditates on the morning from a southland diner. "Buddha, Bitch." Is one of six poetic monologues i wrote as part of a new collection, Beast in the Fields, Vol. IIRead More
Mad Devil, a short film script, was based on an idea about an up and coming fighter in the underground boxing scene. Your typical Rocky story but far more brutal. So I wanted to flesh out the lead characters and their romantic connection, I also included a Japanese motiff. The song "Sakura," is used throughout. I loved that song growing up in grade school and thought it would be a wonderful addition. It turns out to be a strong connection between the male and female leads, between the past the present. I also created a great villain, inspired by the movie Snatch and the awesome character of Brick-Top. In these scenes I show the major pro/ant-tagonists and then the two lovers. Funny that these two seconds are my favorite and yet not one fist was thrown or gun shot in them! I hope this script can get produced. Enjoy.
Of all my scripts, Tren is closest to home. I took the legend of my great grandfather Santiago and made is a jazz fable. I play with time, music and the traditional relationships we have yet seem to break all the time. The scene between the father and son on a moving train is one of the best things I've written. I can just imagine the visuals. The rolling landscape in the back ground as the two fight with the box car doors open. Danergous and passionate all in one. Enjoy!
