In no particular order but each song listened to with the repeat on and a rabid ear. Here are the top five songs I can't get enough of for this week.
Church Shoes. "High and Naked." Utterly offensive, juvenile and brilliant, this song speaks to the inner man-child in us. Sadly, this Austin band recently played their last show.
Ben Howard "Oats in the Water." I found this staggering song on a recent Walking Dead marathon, Season Four.
Milky Chance "Stolen Chance." Rarely, very rarely commercial radio plays a pop tune that perfectly balances melody, beat and artistic guts. Such is this song.
Ledisi "Like This." R&B is alive and well and thankfully it's not in the hands of Beyoncé, but in the glorious vocals of singer Ledisi. Smooth, strong and sexy, this song is a late night repeat.
Gustavo Cerati "Crimen." When the Grammy's ran their "In Memoriam," during their recent telecast, I was surprised to see Cerati being honored. Not that this paramount talent didn't deserve to be mentioned, on the contrary. Sadly, I was surprised as we lost Cerati years ago to a coma, now the body finally cease. Cheers to his wonderful music.
